I paint my body

The colour of the firefalls

The fields of corn

Before the sun falls

The colour of the eyes

When they lack rest

The colour that drips

The colour’s the best

The colour that bleeds

Of a crimson lover

It slices in and stings.

The smallest of things

Yet, it feels so eminent.

It gives me a taste of defeat.

I paint my body
